The Islamic Solidarity Sports Association (ISSA), together with the Local Organizing Committee, is thrilled to celebrate 100 days to go until the start of the Riyadh 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games.

Approximately 3,500 athletes from 57 countries will compete across 23 sports from 7-21 November 2025 in Saudi Arabia’s capital city.

Riyadh 2025 will mark a return of the Islamic Solidarity Games to Saudi Arabia, 20 years on from when the country hosted the inaugural edition.

ISSA Secretary General Nasser Majali looked ahead to the Islamic Solidarity Games.

“With just 100 days to go, excitement is building across our 57 members for the Islamic Solidarity Games. This will be the home of inspiring sporting stories created by the athletes, and it will serve as a platform to showcase peace, diversity and our shared Islamic values,” Majali said.

“The Islamic Solidarity Games is our premier multi-sport event, and we are looking forward to uniting our community in Riyadh in November.”

A dynamic sports program has been confirmed for the sixth edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games, including the integration of two Para sports.

Athletics, Para Athletics, 3x3 Basketball, Boxing, Camel Racing, Duathlon, Equestrian, Esports, Fencing, Futsal, Handball, Judo, Ju-jitsu, Karate, Muay Thai, Para Powerlifting, Swimming, Taekwondo, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Weightlifting, Wrestling and Wushu will all feature at Riyadh 2025.

There will be an equal number of events for male and female athletes at the Islamic Solidarity Games, underlining its role as an event promoting inclusion across the ISSA’s membership.

In each of these events, the Islamic Solidarity Games will serve as a key platform for athletes to compete at an elite level, enhance their international rankings and showcase their skills.

Competition will be staged across four venue clusters in Riyadh – Boulevard, the Olympic Complex, Al Janadriyah, and Malaz.

This will help to deliver a sustainable Islamic Solidarity Games through the use of existing and temporary infrastructure, while minimizing travel required to venues for athletes and spectators.
