The Islamic Solidarity Sports Association has granted Riyadh, the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the right to host the 6th edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games in 2025.
This follows the Inspection Committee's second visit to Riyadh, during which they ensured the readiness of the competition and training venues and the hosting hotels for the Games.
Riyadh’s world-class sports facilities and track record in hosting international events has helped make it a prominent destination for major sports events.
After the first and second visits, the Inspection Committee highlighted the great interest of the Organizing Committee for the Riyadh 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games in providing an ideal host for the event, and its complete readiness for this significant sporting occasion which will feature athletes from the 57 member countries.
Nasser Majali, the Secretary General of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Association, affirmed the Association's confidence in Riyadh's capabilities to deliver an exceptional edition of the Games, held every four years with significant participation and fierce competition.
Majali said: "I congratulate the city of Riyadh on being chosen to host the next edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games. We have witnessed great interest from the Organizing Committee in hosting this event and showcasing the tremendous potential in infrastructure and human resources."
Staging the 6th edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh marks a return to Saudi Arabia, which held the first edition across the cities of Mecca, Medina, Jeddah and Taif in 2005.
It also looks to the future, with the Islamic Solidarity Sports Association undergoing transformation into a people-focused, multi-impact organization which shapes the development of sustainable sport policies and strategies for sport across its 57 member nations from four continents.
As a city also undergoing an unprecedented transformation, Riyadh is a perfect partner to host the next edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games.
